
Thousands queued at the Vatican Monday to pay their respects to former Pope Benedict XVI.
Benedict who died on December 31, 2022, aged 95 and his body was transferred from the Vatican Monastery to Saint Peter Basilica on Monday at 7am.
Dressed in white and red, the body would lie in state for three days before his funeral on Thursday January 5, 2023.
He will be buried in first tomb of Pope John Paul 11. Only two countries, Italy and Germany will attend the funeral.
